0.21a Mage's Guild and Bugfixes


Back with an update only a week later! Mage's Guild won the survey for the first additional content drop.

Everything should be fully compatible with saves from 0.2, so no need to restart if you've been playing that version.

Saturday morning here - quick bugfix to 0.21a, should still be fully compatible.

New Content: Mage's Guild

  • There are 6 interactable bookshelves in the mage's guild. Each one trains one magical skill and teaches a spell.,
  • When you have learned all 6 mage's guild spells, talk to Melina for additional training

Gameplay Changes

  • Graham's max HP and max MP have been slightly increased. This is a small step to the eventual rebalancing.
  • Each magic skill (Mana Control and anything ending in -mancy) now gives +1 max MP. MP regen is based on Mana Control skill titles, but it's a percentage so having a higher max will mean a higher per turn regen.

Bug fixes - a bunch of these, most pretty minor

  • Foreman taylor is no longer facing the wrong way in cutscene 3,
  • Added the name of the Intimidation skill so you can no longer earn levels in a skill with no name. For those wondering, Intimidation is new in 0.2x but not very fleshed out yet so don’t worry if you haven’t seen this.,
  • Fixed a mini time loop that could occur when approaching Simon and Anthony in the lumber yard.,
  • Increased duration of the Prone condition so that it actually lasts a full turn instead of going away right after you get it,
  • Gathering plants now progresses time. Please note that plants do respawn if you leave an area and re-enter.,
  • Prevented the player from being stuck in Emmy’s room or OMH’s office if they are reading when the door closes for the night.,
  • Foreman Taylor will give Graham his axe on later days of a long loop if he never gave it to him earlier. If you ignore him entirely you can still go chop down trees with your bare hands.,
  • Corrected several skill title bonuses that were disappearing on death (Walking, Toughness, Intimidation)

0.21a added

  • Improved logic for room access now that you can be home later in the day
  • Removed an extra graphic for a whip fern plant so it doesn't look like it's still there after you gather it
  • Some minor fixes to Mage's Guild content (mana bolt no longer entombs, Phytomancy books have the right text)
